Sunglint on the Alabama River

.In this particular June 26, 2023, picture drawn from the International Spaceport station, sun light polishes off the soft waters of the Alabama Stream in a phenomenon referred to as sunglint. When photographing The planet, astronauts commonly make use of sunglint's tendency to improve the comparison between water areas and surrounding property areas.In the 1960s, the Alabama River was actually stopped up, developing Dannelly Reservoir (the big shining area at center left). Building and construction of the dam also reared water table upriver. This resulted in flooding at numerous factors along the stream. These disaster area are actually normal of floodplains-- the low, flat areas immediately beside bigger rivers.
